“Wow!  Is that tree really made of LEGO?”

The LEGO Christmas Tree at St Pancras is finally finished!  The big switch on last Thursday went down a storm.

Last Thursday (24th Nov 2011) was the big switch on for Bright Bricks LEGO Christmas Tree at St Pancras Station.  It was a long day, but a lot of fun.  The press came round from 4am for publicity shots and for a lot of the papers (Sun, Times, Evening Standard, Metro etc).  Then there was time with the public during the day before the final switch on of the lights.

Switch on occured at 6.30pm and was carried out by the Nolan sisters who were entertaining the crowd along with the cast of the Peter Pan pantomime from the local theatre, dancers and a steel band.  It was great fun, packed out with people and everyone had a good time.  If you were there, thanks for coming along, if you weren't, get down there and see it during December.

I've only just got round to posting this now as Duncan and I are exhausted after such an epic build.  LEGO and the station were both well pleased with the effort and we hope you are too.

If you want to read more about the build or leave us a comment, pop on over to Facebook.
