LEGO Ladder build to raise awareness for the National Autistic Society

Bright Bricks joined children and parents, Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue and the National Austic Society (NAS) on Sunday 1st April to build a giant LEGO ladder to raise awareness of autism and the NAS' charitable work.

On a funny sunny Sunday visitors took the opportunity to help build rungs on the LEGO ladder being built at Ryde Firestation.  Duncan Titmarsh from Bright Bricks, who designed the ladder and provided the LEGO, was on hand on the day to ensure the project rose to its full potential.

The ladder was built to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the NAS and to raise awareness of autism on World Autism Day.  The construction used approximately 40,000 bricks and members of the public built furiously on the day to get the ladder completed in time.

Louise Foley of the NAS said “This is without doubt the most exciting and somewhat challenging fundraising event I have ever organised on the Isle of Wight. I have so many people to thank for making this possible including all those who voted for our NatWest CommunityForce award which has made sure we have enough money to make our Reaching High for Autism project a reality." Louise added: "I am also thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with Duncan Titmarsh of Bright Bricks who is the only UK Lego certified builder."

Bright Bricks were pleased to be involved in this fantastic project that illustrates the power of LEGO in brining interest and attention to such a worthy cause.
